            Computer Science

            Subjects of Study

This course of study certainly has the highest information content: about two-thirds of the three years consists of purely computer science courses and activities, while the remainder relates to the mathematical knowledge necessary for a computer scientist. Traditional topics include: C ++ and Java programming, algorithms and data structures, databases, operating systems and computer networks. In addition you will study also Internet and Web technologies, XML and security.

            Teaching Methods

The courses consist mainly of lectures, often accompanied by practical experience in the laboratory. It also requires that the student spend about 3 months of the last year of study in an internship at a company in which he or she has the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge acquired in the business world.

            Learning Objectives

            -          Provide a solid basic training in mathematics and computer science that allows adaptation to the rapid evolution of the discipline

            -          Teaching of instruments and the latest methods for the design, implementation and evaluation of complex computer systems

            -          Stimulate, through an internship, knowledge of the working world that is useful and necessary for a quick and successful entry into the workplace.

            From Bachelor to Master

After the Bachelor degree, computer science students can continue with:

            -          A 2nd level degree in Computer Science

            -          Doctoral School of Informatics

            Career Opportunities

Most graduates with a degree in Computer Science find a job immediately after graduation, often during the internship period. Typical activities that a graduate in computer science are expected to perform are the design, development and management of complex software systems, technical security for computer networks, development of databases and of information and multimedia systems.
