Statistics for Economics and Business
The degree course in Statistics for Economics and Business offers an interdisciplinary education in statistics and economics, with particular reference to applications in business for the operational management of companies, as well as in socio-economic and financial fields for the analysis of individual and systemic behavior. Training activities allow students to acquire all the expendable skills, for example, (i) in statistical applications for market analysis and the measurement of market phenomena; in methods of market research, survey, and analysis of the customer satisfaction; (ii) in the management of enterprises, knowledge, management, control, and evaluation of business processes and systems of quality management in manufacturing and service companies; (iii) in the application of statistics to finance; (iv) in applications to the study of economic, social, and demographic phenomena, in particular as it concerns the quantitative analysis of the choices and social and economic behaviors .

This degree has free access with mandatory testing. The exam is only for guidance and does not affect the admission.
Subjects of Study
Mathematical analysis, linear algebra, probability, computer systems, databases, statistics, statistical models, time series analysis of multidimensional data, sampling, economics, business administration, methods and statistical models for the economy and the company , market analysis, marketing, management control, economics of financial markets, statistical methods for finance, social statistics and demography. Students may complete training by choosing their own courses.
Career Opportunities
Graduates in Statistics for Economics and Business can find professions in several areas: manufacturing and services companies, commercial companies, non-profit and profit companies, banks and financial institutions, and public bodies. In line with its own interests and attitudes, students have the opportunity to specialize in key statistical applications to market analysis and business, management, finance, and social phenomena. With these skills, they can find employment in different functional areas such as marketing strategy, analysis of the target market, sales forecasting, research and development, support the general direction, planning and control, quality certification , the management of information systems cost, the analysis of industrial policies, labor and territorial offices studies, promoting financial analysis of financial markets and investment portfolios, assessment of the satisfaction of customers or users, conducting surveys, and demographic forecasts.
From Bachelor to Master
At the end of the first year, the student can choose one of the routes proposed by the degree course. No matter which path is chosen, at the end of the three years students will obtain a bachelor’s degree and can continue with the degree (see www.stat.unipd.it/studiare/requisiti-di-ammissione to requirements admission).
The degree program is a revision and rationalization of existing degree programs.
