              2 INFORMATION

              2.1. STUDENTS WHO CAN ATTEND
The “50-hr English” courses, which aim toimprove English Language skills for Masters students of the School of Science, will start in mid-October. The "50-hr English" courses can be followed by students of almost all the courses of the Departments within the School of Sciences (with the exception of students in Masters degrees in Informatica, Masters degrees in Computer Science, Masters degrees in Cybersecurity - see paragraph 3).Both students attending Masters degrees that permit the English activity to be included in the study plan, and students participating in other Masters degrees Courses (*) that do not include such activities in their plan may participate. The latter may also attend the 50-hr English courses to improve their English, and will be able to obtain the certificate and have the activity recorded in their academic record booklet, outside of their study plan, with 2 CFU (University Credits). You can consult the lists in paragraph 5-2.

2.2. PERIODS, COURSES DURATION 50-HR ENGLISH

The 50-hr English courses, with 40 hours of teaching, are free, and include a final exam. There will be 6 courses in the first semester (from mid-October 2021 to mid-January 2022) and 5 in the second semester (from the beginning of March 2022 to mid-May 2022), which are always held from 16.30 to 18.00 (half on Monday and Wednesday and half on Tuesday and Thursday). The courses will be held in various classrooms made available by the Departments. For each semester, one of the courses is online for students of Masters degrees in Marine Biology and for those with valid reasons.

              2.3. FINAL EXAM
In order to sign up for the final exam students must have been present at 75% of the lessons (based on signatures for classes or on zoom presences in the case of the online courses). The exam is in two parts and takes place on two different days: one for the written part one for the oral test. The dates of the exams - and there are multiple sessions to allow students to choose - will be published during the course but, as a guideline, those for the 1st semester will take place from late January to early February 2022 and, for the 2nd semester, between late May and early June 2022.

              2.4 ELIGIBILITY, CFU, CERTIFICATE

These courses are free, are held by native speakerteachers, and offer an opportunity to obtain, in addition to language eligibility for your Course of Study and related CFU (i.e., University Credits) (see lists in paragraph 5-2), an English B2 productive skills certificate (reading, listening, writing and speaking), issued by the School of Science, which is recognized by Italian universities and in the world of work. The English B2 productive skills level is much more than that of the B2 receptive listening and reading skills (required for accessing many Masters courses).

              3. MASTERS DEGREES IN: INFORMATICA, COMPUTER SCIENCE, CYBERSECURITY

3 STUDENTS OF MASTERS DEGREES IN INFORMATICA, MASTERS DEGREES IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, MASTERS DEGREES IN CYBERSECURITY

3.1. Students from Masters degrees in Informatics andMasters degrees in Computer Science, in order to obtain 3CFU (University Credits), must pass the TAL B2 speaking computer based (cb) exam held by the CLA (University Language Centre). After they have passed the test, the eligibility required by their Study Course (English Language B2- Productive Skills) will be registered, and an Open Badge for B2 speaking issued by the CLA. To prepare for the test, students can also enrol and participate in one of the CLA courses. The CLA provides a course dedicated exclusively to students attending Masters degrees in Informatics and in Computer Science, during the first semester,

If a student already has a B2 productive skills certificate or higher, he or she can apply for recognition of their eligibility, see point 3.4 below.

3.2. Students taking Masters degrees in Cybersecurity are OBLIGED to obtain eligibility (English Language B2- Productive Skills) by passing the test TAL B2 speaking computer based (cb), held by the CLA, in either the 1st or 2nd semester, in order to obtain proof of eligibility and, if they wish to, they may also sign-up for one of the CLA courses.

If a student already has a B2 productive skills certificate or higher, he or she can apply for recognition of their eligibility, see point 3.4 below.

3.3 All information regarding CLA's courses can be found at the link: https://cla.unipd.it/attivita/corsi/corso-tal-b2-speaking-copy/

3.4. To apply for recognition of a language certification, first of all you need to check the equivalence table. From 1 July 2022 to 27 July 2022, a further time period only for the Schools of Engineering, Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine (recognition by the end of August 2022)

This recognition will be uploaded to the student’s online academic record booklet as described above. If recognition is denied, the student will be contacted by the back office.

3.4.2. How to request recognition of language certification:
