1999: Degree in Geological Sciences (University of Torino). 2000: Ph.D. position at University of Modena and Reggio Emilia in Mineralogy. 2001: Ph.D. Training Marie Curie Fellowship at Bayerisches Geoinstitut (Germany). 2003: Ph.D. prize in Earth Sciences by the Italian Society of Mineralogy and Petrology. 2004: Alexander von Humboldt Research Fellowship at Bayerisches Geoinstitut. 2005: Associate post-doc at Virginia Tech. 2006 to 2010: Researcher position in Mineralogy at University of Padova. 2010 to present: Professor in Mineralogy at University of Padova. 2010: Silver Medal for Excellence in Research by the European Mineralogical Union. Research: compressibility, thermal expansion, physical properties of minerals, crystal structure evolution under non ambient conditions. Techniques: X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, SEM-EDS and WDS, diamond-anvil cell, microfurnace, piston-cylinder, multi-anvil press.
